Tracy's Story
Living With a Disability
Accessible options need to be widely available for a choice to be truly meaningful.
Tracy was born with spinal muscular atrophy. Throughout her career, she has been a tireless advocate for accessibility rights in Canada. Tracy recognizes that far too many Canadians with disabilities experience a severe absence of reliable support services needed to live. Tracy believes we must invest in additional support for people with disabilities so they have real options to live with dignity. These include: enhanced income and social supports, affordable and accessible housing, specialist care, day programs and assisted devices, and other essential supports.
Tracy is the President of Citizens with Disabilities Ontario. Tracy has a Master’s Degree in Critical Disability Studies and a B.A and B.Ed. in English and Special Education.
